The Study Rooms

The library at LSC-University Park has 3 enclosed study rooms available by a reservation basis (but there's no minimum time in advance to book if it's available!). Each room has a white board and a collaboration table -- a semi-circular table with an integrated screen to which you can connect a laptop.

Who can reserve a room?

Current* LSC students, adjunct faculty - up to 2 hours/day

 Bookings can be made as far out as 2 months or at the last minute (depending on availability).

 

You will need:

  1. Your LSC ID number (7 digits, printed on your student ID card)
  2. Your Lone Star email address (student emails look like [myLoneStar username]@my.LoneStar.edu)

 

 

*"Current Lone Star student" means you are currently enrolled in classes with a Lone Star campus. UHD students have study spaces on their floor. Lone Star students who, e.g. took classes in fall but are not enrolled with Lone Star in the spring are not considered current students.

Study Room Rules

Study room rules are posted by the door of each study room, inside and out.

  • Rooms are reservable by groups of 2 or more Lone Star students.
    • Not a Lone Star student? Studying alone? Let us know so we can get data to see if we need to adjust this policy.
  • As in the rest of the library, snacks and covered drinks are welcome, but meals should be enjoyed on the 2nd floor, where they can handle food disposal.
  • Be considerate of other students. Dispose of any trash you have, return furniture to its original arrangement, and erase the whiteboards. The rooms are not soundproof, so be aware of your group's volume.
  • Furniture should not be moved into or out of the study rooms.

Checking Out Your Study Room

When it's time for your reservation, go up to the front desk. You will need at least 1 other person from your group with you and your student ID. The front desk staff will verify your reservation and check out a room token to you. One of our staff will then walk you to your room and unlock it.

When your reservation has ended, tidy up the room and return the token to the front desk. Note: these room tokens can and will accumulate late fees at the usual reserve rate ($0.50/hr).
