Book a Study Room

Book a study room time by clicking the button below or by going straight to the online form. At present, rooms may only be reserved by current Lone Star students or adjunct faculty.*

You will need:

  1. Your LSC ID number (7 digits, printed on your student ID card)
  2. Your Lone Star email address (student emails look like [myLoneStar username]@my.LoneStar.edu)

One person can request up to 2 hours per day. Bookings can be made as far out as 2 months or at the last minute (depending on availability).

Once you've filled out the form and submitted your request, you will need to check your inbox for an email and click the confirmation link provided to finish making your reservation.

*"Current Lone Star student" means you are currently enrolled in classes with a Lone Star campus. Students of our university partners attending classes on the LSC-UP campus have study spaces set aside for them on their respective floors in Building 12. Lone Star students who, e.g. took classes in fall but are not enrolled with Lone Star in the spring are not considered current students.

Study Room Rules

Study Room Rules

Study room rules are posted by the door of each study room, inside and out.

  • Rooms are reservable by groups of 2 or more Lone Star students.
    • Not a Lone Star student? Studying alone? Let us know so we can get data to see if we need to adjust this policy.
  • As in the rest of the library, snacks and covered drinks are welcome, but meals should be enjoyed down by Minuti or in the cafeteria (both on the 2nd floor), where they can handle food disposal.
  • Be considerate of groups in the next room, as the rooms are not soundproof. Dispose of any trash you have (there is a trash can in each room), return furniture to its original arrangement, and erase the whiteboards.
  • Furniture should not be moved into or out of the study rooms.

Getting the Room

When it's time for your reservation, go up to the front desk. You will need at least 1 other person from your group with you and your student ID. The front desk staff will verify your reservation and check out a room token to you. One of our staff will then walk you to your room and unlock it.

When your reservation has ended, tidy up the room and return the token to the front desk. Note: these room tokens can and will accumulate late fees at the usual reserve rate ($0.50/hr).
