Lost and Found in the SLRC

The Student Learning Resource Center (B12, floor 8) is responsible for the handling and management of Lost and Found for the Lone Star College-University Park campus.

The SLRC front desk maintains a secure lost and found depository. We will make reasonable efforts to protect lost and found property and return it to the lawful owner or a person with a right to possession within established storage parameters and timeframe.

We will hold on to lost and found items for 30 days, after which we will properly dispose of the items. "Disposal" includes donating to charity, donating to the student fund or other departments, or destruction of the item, as appropriate (explained in the posted policy).

If you find an item...

... stop by the front desk of the SLRC (12.800) to turn it in to a staff member.

We will then record the found item in our logbook -- please let us know where the item was originally found, if you can.

If you lose an item...

...contact the front desk of the SLRC (12.800).

We will check our logbook to see if anyone has turned in your item. If it has not been turned in, we will take your contact information and call you if your reported lost item is brought to us.

To claim your lost property, you must describe what your item looks like and must provide a picture ID, unless you are picking up your wallet or your actual ID.

The SLRC will hold on to lost and found items for 30 days, after which we will properly dispose of the items. Disposal includes donating to charity, donating to the student fund or other departments, or destruction of the item, as appropriate (explained in the posted policy).

Items Not Eligible for the Lost and Found

Not all items can be accepted due to storage limitations and sanitation. The following items will be discarded rather than stored:

  • Food/drink containers
  • Clothing
  • Umbrellas
  • Large/bulky items that cannot be stored
  • Non-prescription medication
  • Any item considered unsanitary

Found items that are stored for a period longer than 7 days at another location/department, then attempted to be turned in to the SLRC, will not be accepted.
