Library Services & Resources

You'll need:

• photo ID (e.g. a driver's license)
• completed form (print and bring, or fill out at the desk)

You must be currently enrolled in Lone Star College classes that have been paid for (or show signs of being paid by financial aid) to be eligible for a student ID.

We start making IDs for each semester on the following dates:

Fall semester: August 1
Spring semester: December 1
Summer semester: May 1

Your first ID is free. Replacement IDs cost $10.

Online/distance students can request a library barcode using the online form.

You'll need:

• photo identification (e.g. driver's license)
• completed Badge Request form signed by supervisor

Note: the library only creates the badge; we do not control room access or the distribution of key cards.

You will receive an email to your student email address (accessible through myLoneStar) with your barcode and PIN within 2 business days of your request.

Barcodes & ID Cards

• If you've gotten a student ID card, you already have a library barcode number.
• If you get a library barcode number, you can later have it printed on a student ID card.
  • Be sure to let the desk staff know you already have a library account!

Convenience

• keeps your student ID number handy
• works as your library card to borrow materials

Verification

• get access to the testing center or events on campus
• establishes that you're welcome to be on campus if there's ever any doubt

Perks

• if a business offers student discounts, your ID card proves you're a student
• employee badges may provide room access
