MLA Style (9th ed.)

A guide to writing and citing in MLA format.

What to Include

MLA formatting rules only apply to documents -- after all, a lot of the guidelines (like size 12 font) just don't make sense for a presentation.

An MLA style presentation typically means a presentation that includes MLA style citations.

At the end of your presentation, have 1 or more slides listing your sources.

  • MLA style
  • Alphabetical order

You usually don't need to worry about double-spacing or hanging indents: bullet lists are fine. (Double-check with your instructor, though!)

In-Text Citations

Yes, you still need these to show where you used your sources.

  • Include parenthetical citations next to bullet points or in the corner of the slide
