Using Keywords and Phrases
In secondary source research you are investigating the analysis and commentary of historians regarding an event (Indian Removal Act) or a research question. Review the definition of "crimes against humanity". Record keywords or phrases from the definition and the research questions.
You may begin your research in a specific database (JSTOR, best bet!) or use Discovery (tutorial below) to search everything at once. Keywords, phrases and filters help to limit and define the information the databases will locate.
Explores debates and conflicts in US and world history, as seen by key players or as interpreted by historians. Balanced articles provide pro and con arguments on hundreds of controversies, and each article is centered on original documents (primary sources).
