Peer tutors work in the Math or Science Hotspots and help students understand the course material in their classes. Peer tutors must have a good grasp of their course subject, be patient and understanding, and have clear communication skills.

Math tutors help students understand the course material and work with students to help build their confidence in math or science skills. Writing tutors help students refine their skills in writing, from grammar and mechanics to organization and flow. They work with students one-on-one or in groups to help students learn how to self-edit their papers in a variety of subjects. They also work with the librarians to teach students research skills and must be familiar with citation styles. Writing coaches must have an excellent grasp of writing, be patient and understanding, and have clear communication skills.
