In the catalog, the format of "book" is checked, and an arrow is placed over the "include" button. This would limit results to only print books.Suggested limits (filters) to get fewer results:

These e-books are free to read. You can read them in the browser: you do not have to download them or use a special app.

To get access, you will have to sign in with your library barcode number or your myLoneStar email/password.

Magazines - readers enjoy popular digital magazines with a computer click (cellphone too!) Explore Food & Cooking, Travel, Sports, Hobbies or, well, whatever you can think of!

eBooks - Browse, make a selection, enjoy reading from any device.

Textbooks

Buy (from a Bookstore)

  • Pay money for a book that you own. You may find used books that cost less than new ones.
  • You can write in the book.
  • You can keep it forever, throw it away, donate it, or sell it.

Rent (from a Bookstore)

  • Pay money for a book that you have to give back. This is usually cheaper than buying.
  • You canNOT write in the book.
  • You canNOT keep the book. You have to send it back to the bookstore you rented it from when they say.

Borrow (from the Library)

  • You get to use a book for free!
  • You canNOT write in the book.
  • You canNOT keep the book. You have to give it back to the library.

The UP Library has a textbook collection. You can borrow (for free!) a textbook to read in the library for 2 hours at a time. Checkout requires a library card/student ID.
