You set off on your journey using the map your guides gave you and encounter strange creatures, including spiders the size of cars, surprisingly helpful selkies, and other sights too wondrous to describe in a short Pick Your Own Escapade hosted on the Internet.
You reach the Caves of the Catomancer. They soar above you, a rocky formation that create a silhouette not unlike a giant cat likeness. As you enter the Caves, you are plunged into darkness. Strange flickering torches that burn a dim green provide an eerie glow. They illuminate dusty shelves of tomes with titles like The Gods of Jade and Shadow. From the darkness, you hear a sound like a moan, or a meow. Or a meow-moan. A meown, if you will. The sound ricochets against the cave walls, echoing until it sounds like a thousand cats meowning.
“Run, mortal!” a strange voice cries. “Leave this place, or my undead army of cats will devour you!”
A figure dressed in robes that cover its entire face, but leave tiny little ears exposed, looms above you.
“Are you KIDDING me?” you cry.
It’s the last words you’ll ever say, as the sound of shambling, undead paws draws closer.
