3.6 Spiders spidering spiderly: _

You follow the brook back to a forest, the only dark spot in a land that otherwise seems entirely made out of light. The branches spider out above you, covered with cobwebs and debris from rotting wood and leaves. You shudder as you hear something skitter in the underbrush, but soldier on. An uncomfortable feeling that you are being watched settles between your shoulders.

There’s a sound behind you!

You turn, only to find yourself stuck in a spiderweb strewn across the path. As you struggle to free yourself, you hear a low moaning noise and look up to see a black sloth with red eyes engrossed in a book. It’s a dire-sloth!

"Hey!" you call out. "What's that you're reading?" You keep pulling at the spiderwebs. So sticky!

"Is it any good? What's it about?"

The creature, tired of your interruptions, slowly makes its way toward you, clutching a book in his three-toed paw. As you squint to read the cover -- Unmentionable; huh, that sounds neat -- the dire sloth opens its gaping maw. You’re doomed!
