The LSC Libraries are going to merge LibGuides systems in the spring semester (summer 2026 being the full launch)! This will make the licensing easier to manage with just one account and also means all the campuses will equally offer not just LibGuides but also LibCal (space and appointment bookings, event management), LibWizard (tutorials and forms), and LibAnswers (chat and FAQ system). 

 

What this means for our UP community:

  • upresearch.lonestar.edu will be no more! Handouts, assignments, and D2L links sending students to this url will have to be updated. 
    • We'll share the new url once it's finalized and content is populated.
  • Links will have campus names to keep guides distinguished, along with differences in banner. (e.g. something lonestar.edu/up/whatever)
  • Some aesthetic changes will happen as we merge into a coherent style guide for all the libraries.

 

What this means for your librarians:

  • We're trying to not make any new guides that will have to be transferred.
  • We're spending Spring 2026  deleting very old guides we've kept archived and assets so there's less to transfer.
  • We'll have to remap and semi-recreate a lot of things by May 31, 2026 (when our access to the current system cuts off).

We're also remediating content for accessibility WCAG 2.1 AA compliance for the April 2026 deadline… if we look frazzled in the spring, this is why!
