Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship makes it possible for the nation's top community college students to complete their bachelor's degrees by transferring to a four-year college or university. The Foundation provides up to $40,000 per year to each of approximately 85 deserving students selected annually.

University-Specific Transfer Scholarships

Universities often have their own scholarships for transfer students. Many don't even have a separate application -- you're automatically considered when you apply to the school.

Common Texas Transfer Schools

Baylor University - Transfer Academic Scholarships
Transfer students are considered for the academic scholarships when they apply for admission, with award amount based on incoming GPA.
Prairie View A&M - General Scholarship Application
Incoming Freshmen/Transfer Students have the same criteria for eligibility.
Sam Houston State University - Bearkat Transfer Scholarships
Bearkat Transfer Scholarships will automatically be offered in the Fall semester. Funds for the academic year are limited, and awards will be offered on a first-come, first serve basis, based on acceptance to the University. No application is required other than applying for admission to Sam Houston State University!
Stephen F. Austin University - Scholarships
Lumberjack Transfer Scholarship Program for students who transfer to SFA during the fall or the spring. There's no application process: you're automatically considered for it when you enroll.
University of Houston-Downtown - Transfer Students Scholarships
UHD does not have a scholarship application process; you'll be automatically considered if you meet certain criteria.

Candidates may not be eligible to simultaneously receive another UHD Institutional Scholarship when receiving a UHD Transfer Scholarship. However, additional scholarship awards may be possible, depending on funding availability, at the discretion of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. However, students may receive a Red Rose Scholarship and/or departmental scholarship during the same academic year.
University of Houston - Scholarships for Transfers
UH has two $1,000 scholarships for transfer students.
University of Texas at Austin
The UT Scholarship Application for Continuing & Transfer Students is available in November of each year and is used to award students for the following academic year. Your application is due by March.
