Library Account

Students attending classes at LSC-University Park campus receive a library account when they obtain a student ID card. Online students may not have this opportunity and may obtain a library account at this page: Library Card Request

This account is represented by a 14-digit number and is used to request items from the catalog or to access the Research Databases anywhere and anytime.

The library account number is used to authenticate your status as a LSC student. With this authentication you have access to 100+ research databases containing articles and other information types from a wide range of disciplines.

An alternate authentication may be available with your LSC username and password. Look below the box for your library account number and you should see this method of authentication.

Managing Your Research

While conducting research you will need to capture the articles and associated citations. Your process will be very individual, but be consistent and choose a tool to help organize your research. Some suggested tools below:

OneDrive - Cloud storage from Microsoft Office 365. 1 TB free for Lone Star College students.

Evernote - The basic version is free. Works across all mobile devices. Create notebooks for each course or writing assignment. Be sure to download the Web Clipper as well.

Zotero is a free, open access extension that runs in the Firefox and Chrome browsers that's designed to gather, download, and tag your research. Helpful tutorials.

EasyBib Citation generator that is free for MLA.
