Writing Help

Writing coaches in the Writing & Reading Hostpot (B12.825) help you better understand your course material and refine major structural issues in your paper. They do not provide proofreading (use IntelliWriter or the built-in tools in Word to check spelling, etc). Tutoring is available free to currently enrolled LSC students.

When & How:

Just walk in whenever the Writing & Reading Hotspot is open! During busy times, writing tutors may limit sessions to 20-30 minutes. Virtual tutoring is available through Brainfuse and TutorMatch via myLoneStar.

Get the Most Out of Tutoring

  • Bring a copy of your assignment, along with any other necessary course materials and textbooks.
  • Ask specific questions.
  • Allow enough time to complete your assignment before the deadline.
