Someday, there will probably be sophisticated computer AIs that can perfectly understand human speech.
That day is not today.
Grammarly is a great tool for beginning your revision process, but it can't catch the bigger structural issues your writing may have. It's easy to teach a machine where a comma should be included, but you still need a person to let you know e.g. your thesis statement is vague.
Use Grammarly to check your paper (either as you're writing it, or after you've finished a full draft) to get out all the basic bugs. Then, while you still have hopefully at least a day or two before your due date, bring your draft to the Writing Lab. Our writing coaches will work with you to root out the bigger issues.
If you're not sure how to structure your paper, it's a good idea to talk to them first thing! That way you don't get all the way through a first draft only to discover you've been off-track.
